You have to have the AM filter in the receiver to work
on AM.

All of the normal Heath AM filters are going to be too
narrow for your liking including the one used in the
SB-310 SWL receiver.

You might try to find an i.f. can for the correct
frequency and use it for the AM filter.  This is what
Collins did in the S-Line receivers.  It might be a
little broad since the i.f. is much higher in the
SB-Line than in the S-Line.  But, it would be a place
to start.

bandwidths? a 5 kc filter is too narrow in my
opinion.. this is where i would stray from a ' stock ' filter.
