Hello everyone.. upon recieving my heathkit sb-300, i opened it up n =
fiddled with it.. the s-meter did not work.. fixed that ( a small =
adjustment ).. the lil freq marker dident turn that plastic disk.. fixed =
that... and tweaked the coils for optimum recieve....
seems to be working great.. i q-tipped the whole inside.. and notw its =
very nice n clean..... no dust.. or grime.. ect....cleaned everything.. =
and it really nice now.. ty for all ur help and ideas! Its on 40m right =
now.. listening to a lil ssb roundtable.. hasent budged or drifted off =
freq at all !

There is only 1 thing that im not sure about yet... and that is the AM =
reception. Does the internal AM filter need to be installed for AM =
reception? If so.. what is a respectable price to pay for an original / =
not origional that works well.. ide like a 7-10 khz filter for good =
audio clairity on AM.

Also what AM filters were available , what were their bandwidths? a 5 kc =
filter is too narrow in my opinion.. this is where i would stray from a =
' stock ' filter.

Thank you.. and have fun! This was a neet lil project.. that is daynm =
near completion.. all i really needto do is test all the tubes.. i have =
a hunch their all ok.
