_Special Event Station celebrating the journey of the Titanic_

The Titanic Historical society will be conducting a special event 
station commemorating the voyage of the Titanic. This is the 92nd 
anniversary of the journey. Formal operations will start at the Museum 
on Sat April 10 and continue through April 15,with the exception of 
April 11 (Easter Sunday).

Daily operations at the Museum will be from 10:00 AM until 5:00 PM. 
Note, all times are EDT. Additional operations during the evening hours 
and Sunday, April 11 will be held at several designated home stations.

If you would like to participate as an operator, either at the Museum or 
from your home station, please contact me at [email protected] 
<mailto:[email protected]>. If you are unable to join us as an operator, 
you can work the station (W1MGY) on or near the frequencies listed below.

Operations on April 14 and 15 are as follows:

April 14, 2004 Wed 11:25 pm EDT

Cape Race reports first distress call at 10:25 pm EST.

April 15, 2004 Thu 1:10 AM EDT

Captain Smith releases Phillips & Bride from duty.

NOTE: One report indicates release from duty as late as 1:17 AM EDT.

April 15, 2004 Thu 1:27 AM EDT

END OF SPECIAL EVENT STATION. Time of last transmission.

April 15, 2004 Thu 1:47 AM EDT

Titanic breaks apart and sinks.

Additional activities include a special commemorative hand sent CW 
message. The message will commence at the time Titanic�s last 
transmission was heard by the Virginian and be about three sentences in 
length. A special certificate will be available to anyone that 
successfully copies the text. Please indicate if you would like to be 
one of the CW operators for this special message.
