Gale,

Yes, I think 40 is the best choice.  Not sure what a good frequency would be 
since its been years since I've been on 40 fone.  You were the op when i 
worked N5P and signals were usable but not great on CW.  40 is a band where 
everyone shouldm be able to get up some kind of reasonable simple antenna.

I know you couldn't hear me at N5HR the last time I tried on 10, but you 
guys had a reasonable signal out here, perhaps a little stronger than K5HV. 
You two were the only ones with workable signals out here.
