Hey Scott
I just wrote John off list to offer him a chance on
buying your 16… I’ll still get it if he or someone else
does not pop up shortly. I know it will save you the
hassle of shipping and all, but I almost feel guilty hoarding
yet another : ) Still plan to finish my 13C. I’ll wait to see
what John K5MO comes up with.
I’m looking for my HBR CD to see about someone being
successful with their HBR 13C I’m sure I read it, but can’t
remember what the fix was : )
73 everyone
Bill KE9XQ
PS I don’t think John will be driving up to get it tho : )
Are you retired John? I did do a transfer once with a
trucker to transport a real nice TenTec Argosy for me
was not out of his way and I gave him I think it was $40
for his efforts. Both the seller and buy we did not want
to ship…

> Kees and all, Yes it is a surprise that there are still folks interested in the HBR series after all these years. What a fabulous legacy for W6TC. I’m sure it is the wonderful nostalgia that it brings. So many of us remember reading out the HBR series in QST back then. Owning one gives us a chance to experience a little bit of the excitement and buzz of that era.

I’ve seen several 16’s, 14’s and 11’s over the years but never a 17 and only 1 13C which I bought. With the 17 I’ll include original Alex Stewart correspondence with the builder. I”m keeping the 13C for reference until I’m done and satisfied with my HBR-13 non_C project t(hat is taking way too long) and then I’ll sell the 13C. At that point it will be time to build a transmitter.
