[HBR] HBR Wrapped wires

Interesting!   

That has been my theory for a while.   Even if the wire doesn't come
completely loose -- maybe several other wires through the same lug are
holding it in place -- an unsoldered (non-wrapped) wire is likely to be
easily found when you start poking around and wiggling things.

However I just looked at the assembly manual for the HR-10 and it
specifically says that leads should be crimped around terminals before
soldering: "Crimp or bend the lead (or leads) around the terminal to form a
good joint without relying on solder for physical strength."

The manual I have is copyright 1967.   I wonder if Heath ever changed their
recommendation?

When you add to 'can find unsoldered wires more easily' the fact that most
home brew projects will require changes -- at least, mine do! -- this
becomes an easy question.

I have a Heath IO 4555 scope that has an intermittent trace; bet that's a
partially soldered joint.
