Scott, in my opinion and it is an opinion only, I prefer the HBR 12 to the
others.
I have built the HBR 16, two HBR13s and a HBR12. I think the HBR 12 is as
good as any. My HBR 13 is on the shelf and the HBR 12 is used here almost
daily on 40 M.
The HBR 14 was the first, then the 16, 13 etc. There was even an HBR8 and
HBR 11 as well as some others of which I am not familar.
Another possibility is to "rekit" one of your existing radios.
Parts, especially I F transformers are getting somewhat scarce.
