While I am a proud owner of an HBR-16 and an HBR-13, both were built by someone else. I've always wanted to build my own receiver and the HBR will be a dandy one. After building my own I'm planning on moving the prebuilt ones on to others .
I'm pondering over which HBR version to build since there are so many to choose from. I think both of my prebuilt HBRs, the 16 and 13, are good performers. I've looked over the info on the 16 and 13 on Kees site and both seem to be a great choice. While I think the 16 was the first HBR, it appears to holds its own against the 13. If you were building an HBR today, which version would you favor and why?
Does anyone have a collection of HBR parts that they never got around to building that they would consider selling? Once I figure out the version to run with, I'm going to have to create a spread sheet of parts and simply start hunting them down. Any leads on the more critical parts like the IF coils, BFO coil, main tuning capacitor, Eddystone dial or National dial, would be appreciated.
Thanks for your insight.
