For the most part, the left and markers are irrelevant to each other. The
dial marker should be checked and/or adjusted to the band you are using
at the time. If you do a good and accurate alignment per their
instructions, and after any drift has settled down, any dial pointer
adjustment should be minimal.

right on. But, I also noticed that in the right window, the dial marker
was lined up exactly on the 21/28/50/144 mcs bands in that window. But
not centered on the escutcheon marker. So Im thinking, the right and
left markers are irrelevant to each other and one should only pay
attention to the the band you are on and the marker that correlates to
the band. I would really like to have some input from someone else with
a HQ170A in use to verify my findings.
