[Hammarlund] Might have figured out aligning pointers on HQ-170A

As I keep digging into this thing Im beginning to wonder if these dials
dont really line up as I would assume from the pictures in the manual.
The reason I come to this conclusion is because there is a section in
the manual explaining how to align the frequency dial. It states to set
the dial marker centered and put the radio on 14mcs. Zero beat with the
crystal calibrator to be sure the dial zero beats right on 14mcs. If
not. loosen the dial and line it up to 14 mcs to now have the dial
calibrated. I did not have to do that because mine was right on. But, I
also noticed that in the right window, the dial marker was lined up
exactly on the 21/28/50/144 mcs bands in that window. But not centered
on the escutcheon marker. So Im thinking, the right and left markers are
irrelevant to each other and one should only pay attention to the the
band you are on and the marker that correlates to the band. I would
really like to have some input from someone else with a HQ170A in use to
verify my findings.
