[Hammarlund] Home brew Hammarlund type dial drive

The Handbook had a number of Novice-level receiver projects back in the '50s and '60s, IIRC, that utilized a scratchbuilt friction drive based on a rubber grommet contacting a shaft or circular dial. I'll take a look tonight or tomorrow to see if memory serves correctly.

Subject: [Hammarlund] Home brew Hammarlund type dial drive

Hello all,

Has anyone tried making a friction type dial drive as used in so many of the Hammarlund receivers? I have a homebrew project coming up, and would like to use that system. I adjusted the bandspread drive on an HQ-145 once, but that was a while back, and I don't remember the details.

Cheers,

Brian Burns
