[Hammarlund] Home brew Hammarlund type dial drive

Hello all,

 

Has anyone tried making a friction type dial drive as used in so many of the
Hammarlund receivers? I have a homebrew project coming up, and would like to
use that system. I adjusted the bandspread drive on an HQ-145 once, but that
was a while back, and I don't remember the details.
