[Hammarlund] sp600 panel thickness?

Hello all,

I am building a product detector for my sp600 from a kit (sorry, its solid state) and I want to build it onto a 2U panel to mount in my enclosure above the sp600. I plan to use period knobs etc, and engraved lettering (white on gray) to try to match as closely as possible.  As such I want to make the panel the same thickness as the sp600 (JX26)

Question is, what is the proper thickness of an sp600 panel? My very poor measurement comes to something like 0.132" or 3.352mm. I have to guess the right thickness is something more typical.  

Anyone know? (or have a set of calipers?)
