Greetings All,
Did the Heathkit kits come with a handmike or was that an option?
The HW-202 was introduced in about 1973 and was a FM only two meter transceiver
with six crystal controlled frequencies.
Question: Was the mike high impedence or low impedence?
Question: The handmike that came with the one I was given has been altered. It
is a Heathkit mike but somebody soldered two AAA batteries inside. my guess is
they altered the mike to increase the output. Was there a problem with low gain
on the HW-202 or?
Question: I have a high impedence hand mike correctly wired for the HW-202. I
have a carrier, but no audio. I have been told just enough to confuse me! Some
say there is not enough gain and I need an amplified mike, others tell me there
is an internal control for the mike gain and it may be dirty and should be
cleaned. Then others tell me about some voltage oscillation adjustment. Given
the fact that the PTT works, I have a carrier being measured by a second
receiver used as a monitor, the mike is wired correctly according to the
diagrams, knowing the rig did work nine years ago before going into storage when
the builder became a SK, where do I begin to solve the no audio issue?
Thanks!
