[Hammarlund] HQ-145 question

Hello,

I recently acquired a beat-up (but working) HQ-145 at a hamfest to use as an
AM receiver, and went through the alignment procedure over the weekend.  The
only problem was that I could not adjust IF transformer T-7.  It was
completely stuck, but after knocking some dirt out of it I got it to turn a
little bit in each direction.  My question is, does anybody know of a good
way to get these unstuck, or should I just leave well enough alone?  I would
replace it if I knew where to find one.
