Dan, this sounds dumb because I've done it. Do you have the AVC switch on?
If so, check the switch. In the off position, the meter will assume various
positions including minimum peg or maximum peg. Remember also that the meter
only works in AM mode and the AVC has to be on. The AVC has to be off for
SSB in which case the meter doesn't work. On mine the meter goes to minimum
peg on SSB and works for AM if the AVC switch is on. But flipping a switch
is probably too easy. Oh well...73's, Mike
