A couple of years ago I was given an HQ-110-C which was in pretty 
bad shape. I essentially restored it electronically. One thing I 
discovered which surprised me was that if I didn't have the antenna 
connections, or jumpers, correct, gain on 160 and 80 were WAY 
WAY down.  When I fixed that (an easy fix), gain on 160 and 80 
were back up there with all the other bands: about 1 microvolt or 
less.
