I didn't say it was a 'bad' set, just not 'high end' which it is not. IIRC, Hammarlund had at
least one or two Super Pros out then that were of higher quality as far as features, design,
etc. If you go back and check the old catalogs and handbooks and read the features, you'll
have a better idea of what I'm saying here. I own a '129X and I like it very much. I got it
along with an HQ-150 which is a 'better' set than the '129 in many ways. Also have the
SP-600 which is better still. Doesn't make the '129X a bad set, anymore than a Lincoln
makes a Ford a bad car. Strictly a case of features and design, and no different than the
Hallicrafters sets that ranged from the low end S-38 to the SX-115, SX-62*, and SX-88,
with many models in between.

And why did I say it? Because it's true, that's why.
