The output voltage from the power supply to the SP-400 is 380vDC across C2 so a good Electro CAP
at 450V or 500V will be easy to find. The Filter input cap is another story. By the way it is NOT
an electrolytic, it is most probably an OIL filled capacitor (but could be paper, yuk!), these
have very good history of survival in old boat anchors. Are you sure its faulty ????

If it is faulty, (and by the way it is a 1 mfd in my SP400 circuit diagram) any 1mf HV cap will do
good service. You could use two .5mfd 1kv in parallel or two 2mfd 630v in series, BUT use a
100kOhm 2 watt or larger resistors in parallel with each capacitor, to make sure that the input
volts are equal across the two caps.
