Dick, AA5VU,

I  just listened to the output from the sound card. in the iMac.  I 
did find something interesting.  I have a volume control on the 
headphones line and it was turned down pretty far.  When I turned it 
up - it just about blew my ears off.  It is the same when I pulled 
the plug from "output" on the back of the computer - very loud.  My 
XYL came running into the room to find out what the noise was!!

I guess you can way that the sound card has plenty of output!!
