That eliminates both cocoaModem and the iMac from the problem.  It has to be
wiring or a defective SL-1.  You will know when the repaired or replacement
SL-1+ shows up in the next week or so.  Too bad you did not return the cable
to Tigertronics so they could check it for you.  It is hard to test with the
plastic phone plug on one end.  I think you said it worked with the G5 so
the cable is probably not the problem.
