[Ham-Mac] Yaesu 857 and Mac, what do I need?

Hi Lew,
Well don't have a schematic of the Imic but haven't noticed a
problem. Originally I used it with a couple of isolation transformers
and 10K pots from radio shack but noticed that
I seldom used the controls. Ended up putting in a couple of 1/8w
resistors in the connectors to cut down the gain a little on receive
and just ran it directly. By the way, I run both the Mac and a PC side
by side so to change computers I just put the USB connector in the
appropriate front panel socket and I'm there! Can change computers in
about 5 seconds tops.
Don't have the 897 but have both the FT-1000D and FT-817 which I use it
with. Obviously you need VOX for switching but outside of that, the
Imic is all you basically need.
Good Luck,
Randy
