I have read the responses so far with interest. Puppy is good, Chubby
Puppy is better as it has OpenOffice included. Ubuntu/kubuntu are OK
but a bit limiting in view of the rigid refusal to include any programs
that are not 100% open source. So you cannot watch commercial DVDs with
them and alhtough there is a way round that. Ubuntu/Kubuntu give you no
help on the subject.
For a new one to Linux, I suggest Freespire. It is so easyto use for
someone just used to Windoze. The Click and Run feature makes adding
programs incredibly easy as there are no hassles with dependencies etc.
The Click and Run on line Warehouse gives free access to thousands of
additional programs as well as to some you have to pay for - so far
everything I have wanted has been in the free category. Ratherthan
write more, have a look at www.freespire.org
