[Ham-Computers] Configuring a distant router connection for home QTH

No such thing as a dumb question John. You can connect your two
routers, the 2 routers can't have the same address. Example, Motorola
Modem @192.168.0.1, Lynksys @ 192.168.1.2. You can't have DHCP turned
on in your network setting for your computer. Set it to manual, set it
to 192.168.1.100, subnet 255.255.255.0. Now your Motorola Modem will
function as a switch. You should see your Linksys. You just need to
know the real I/P address of your Linksys. This will effect the
settings of my examples.

Hope that helps point you in the right direction.

Ken

If I run a CAT 5/6E cable from one of the ports on my home wireless router outto an out building on my property, can I just put another Linksys wireless router on the end of it and expect to see the signal or am I missing something here?
