I am looking for an existing product or good construction ideas.
I need to be able to recharge more than one laptop battery at a time.
I can easily use more than one battery per day if I am away from 120VAC
and my portable UPS.
I remove the battery when it is is not the sole means of power to prevent
the battery continually being on charge. Batteries are expensive.

Batteries are heavy. I don't really want to carry five of them, but at times I will use
three or four per day.
Recharging them one at a time, is slow. I ought to be able to recharge several at one
time.

Could you use your laptop in the car/van/truck with DC to DC converter or a AC inverter?
   * Li-ion battery are not harmed by overcharging them, the charging circuits sees to that.
You can buy "external" laptop batteries, they look like the "laptop coolers" and the
laptop sets on it.
