I would use the jv16 power tools from macecraft and put it on the safest 
setting and back up everything which the program will ask you if you 
want it to perform this op. I also use CCleaner which is free. Be very 
careful. I have found that if used in this genial way it will speed 
things especially if there is tons and tons on junk on the puter.
