Joe,
The defacto standard for Windows programs (there are certain exceptions but
mostly for installers and the like) is that the names of all running programs
started manually by the operator show up along the bottom of the screen (unless
you've moved the area to the sides or top). Further, in the upper right hand
corner of that programs window are three gray buttons.
>From left to right, Minimize ("_"), Maximize (either a single rectangle or
two overlapping smaller rectangles) and Quit ("X").
If you only have two buttons at the top right, you'll have to contact the
program manufacturer to find out why.
If you have all three buttons, with the program window visible (i.e., not
minimized), click the center button until it shows the two rectangles. Then grab
the edges of the window and resize it. If you still cannot grab an edge,
click and hold the (by default blue) area along the top of the screen and drag it
left or right until a "grabbable" edge appears. Repeat for the other side
edge. Then try for the bottom edge. If you can't grab it, look for a scroll
bar at the right of the screen and if it's there, scroll to the bottom.
If the above still didn't work (you couldn't find an edge), and your monitor
and video board and driver have the capability, temporarily bump the screen
resolution up one level. This should reduce the size of everything on the
screen. After you get your window shrunk, put the resolution back where you
normally run it.
The final possibility would be to locate the screen size and position
parameters in the registry and manually change them. But I haven't a clue about how
to do that in XP.
