[Ham-Computers] Question about power supply in computer

The power supply is probably fine, as proven by the fact that it spins
the fan initially.  

There are any number of things that will stop a computer from booting
up, like a bad cpu, connectors that aren't correctly connected, and bad
hardware.  Start by removing every connector on the motherboard (ONE BY
ONE) and reseating it.

If that doesn't work, reseat the memory, each card plugged into the
motherboard, and the cpu (BE CAREFUL), one at a time.  Hopefully it's
minor.

After that, try removing all the cards and the memory and trying to
boot.  If it goes further and beeps, that means one of the cards is bad.
Put them back until it fails again and you have your culprit.


If all of this fails, you may have larger problems.
