Robert,

Have you actually used Nero and are able to make an objective criticism of
the product as compared to the Easy CD Creator or you simply base your
dislike on personal taste?

I own both, two versions of each, including the top version, and find that
Nero is superior "overall". However, each has its own strong points! I have
found Nero to be much more powerful, quality of data being written accuracy
level higher, straight forward logical approach in sequential operation is
excellent and the features are more than adequate.

As Aaron pointed out, using a program for purposes other than what it was
created to do best will almost always result in a compromise.

I am just nearing completion of an extensive video production project and
Nero Vision V6.0 has performed beautifully for both CD and DVD work.

While the old Adaptic Easy CD Creator works well for data nd music CDS, I
found it lacking in the DVD world. Nero is vry strong for either.

That's true, but I didn't say/recommend using EasyCD/Media as a backup
utility. The only portion of it that I install and use turns the CD/DVDRW
drive
into something that the OS sees as just another (removable media) drive.
Unless
(a) the CD/DVD drive is never going to be used for anything other than
backups
(and the backup utility knows how to write to it without OS help) or (b)
the
backup utility loads at boot time and turns the CD/DVD drive into just
another
drive as EasyCD does.
