I dont think it a virus a virus, but I have a similar problem when
downloading com files and the computer adds the extension .jpg so that a
file that should be xxxx.com becomes xxxx.com.jpg This requires going
into DOS to remove the exteranious extension. There must be something
set incorrectly somewhere, but I cant find it. I am using XP. If I
were in 98 I would know where to go, but XP has been changed and the
custom settings are not so easy to find now.
