What programs do you have?? What is that programs capability??

I suspect you will have to do some experimentation. Modifying many pixels=
 takes
time. I recommend experimenting with a couple of typical pictures scanned=
 at low
resolutions. Carefully record the methods and changes were required to ge=
t the
desired finish.

Then determine the amount of detail you wish to keep, and any possible en=
larging you
may want. I do not know personally how well Polaroid's scan.

if you have a lot of hard disk space, or a CD burner, I personally recomm=
end you
scan all the pictures at the maximum resolution of your scanner. Then, fo=
llow the
same procedures that were successful as above.

If not, experiment with a couple of scans, enlarging the results to the m=
aximum size
you think you will need.

If you don't have a CD burner, I recommend you consider investing in one=
=2E They are
now available for less than $100 (my last one was $89.95). You can store =
quite a few
pictures (at least 10 +, check your file size) scanned at your maximum re=
solution.
Presently writable CD's are selling for less than 30=A2 in lots of 100 (C=
ostco).

If the pictures are in different stages of degradation, scan each on at l=
ow
resolution, do your experimental manipulation, recording what works for t=
hat
picture. Then rescan at high resolution and repeat the process.

I realize this is not an exact procedure as you might have preferred. But=
 I think
your photographs condition, and your preferences, and your equipment all =
make some
differences. So experimentation is a requirement in my operation.

I hope this is helpful.
