I haven't used that method, but I have used the Easy CD Creater method. The
advantage of doing it that way is that you have a chance to listen to your
sampled audio, do any desired editing, and run it through the built-in
"filters", before actually writing to the CD. Also, you can do each song as
a separate track (which I'm not sure if you can do with the standalone CD
recorders). You may have already been through all of this, but I thought I'd
point it out in case you hadn't.
