What about the resistors in it, did you check any of them?

This thing was pumped full of paper caps, about 
30 of them. I replaced all of them one at a time and testing the radio 
each time I replaced one to be sure I didnt mess up. It sounded a bit 
better each time, but, when I got to the audio section which was the 
last few caps I replaced, whoa, what a difference that made. This radio 
has awesome sounding audio now and is very clear and quiet. What a
