I had to ship a R-388 to the UK a year or so back. Surface rates went away
some years ago, so it's all 'overnight' air more or less, even though it
takes a few days. UPS online calculator came out around $1K and FedWrex
around $1.5K.
USPS Priority International was $203. That was double-boxed with a lot of
packing. I see plenty of quotes on ebay and elsewhere for $100+ to ship a
receiver stateside. So Priority International seems like a reasonable deal
still if you need to ship across the pond.
Back in 2002 I had 75kg of WWII aircraft gear shipped here from Oz for
about $500 by FedWrex Air. They even provided the heavy duty cartons. Times
have indeed changed.
