[Hallicrafters] HT-30 and SWR meters

This doesn't make sense....

You say the "transmitter goes into transmit when I turn the dial from  
"warm up" to "standby"....
This is evidenced in what way, i.e by a forward power reading on the  
swr meter, an increase
or change in PA plate current, relay clicking in, light coming on,  
signal in an accompanying
receiver, something else?

Something missing here......
