Yeah ,this reminds me that these 'AUDIOFOOLS' are paying BIG BUCKS for  
these leaky old BB capacitors
on ebay! The argument 'the old caps sound better' !!


In  my limited experience, the old resistors (especially the higher
value ones)  in these Hallicrafters are usually way off, too: so much
so that it always  makes me wonder how the circuit can work at all,
even poorly. Perhaps it's  not so critical after all?

Well depends where the resistor is sitting in the circuit .The critical  
ones are the cathode biasing and the screen drop resistors.
