[Hallicrafters] Paint for HT-32A

Everyone
For the last 40 years I have always baked my spray can paint jobs in an oven
or a heat box I built to temperature cycle test some product or just an IR
heat lamp. Nobody ever told me to do it I just did it because I heard the
term baked enamel finish. I go for about 150 deg f for about an hour or two
if I forget even longer(very scientific am I). The finish is hard and
scratch resistant. In fact I would say some of it is a darn sight better
than some powder coating I have had done for me by a pro shop.
The only problem I have with spray cans and fast dry finish is moving fast
enough on a large project to keep a wet edge. So, I tend to move fast with
many thinner lighter coats.
As one participant on one of the reflectors says "your mileage may vary". It
works for me. One operator control panel I did was still in great condition
after 20 years daily two shift a day use in an industrial facility. It even
survived the yoyos doodling on it with a ball point pen.
As they say---good enough for the girls I date.
