[Hallicrafters] Question: Tropicalized Halli receivers?

Well, as I look into it a little deeper it gets more interesting.
I see that many of the air-core transformers and inductors are
tropicalized.
Also, there's a couple of tube sockets that are high dielectric.
The speaker cone is tropicalized (surely they wouldn't just spray
Glyptol or Cosmoline on a speaker cone, would they?), as is the voice
coil and output trans.
The power transformer is also different, being a multi-voltage input
unit - and it's tropicalized.
Oddly enough, none of the resistors change, but about a dozen of the
paper and mica caps do, mostly with closer tolerance ratings, I gather.
So anyway - Duane, according to America's Underwater Ace-of-Aces of
WWII, Rear Adm. Richard H. O'Kane, his U.S.S. Tang's wardroom and crews
mess were equipped with "the finest Hallicrafters". They would have had
to have been a model that would pass shipboard radiataion requirements,
though.
On some hard drive I've got a copy of an official Navy document that
lists what receivers were or were not allowed on board WWII Navy ships.
Mark, W1EOF sent it to me.
