[Hallicrafters] Question: Tropicalized Halli receivers?

Does anyone know if there was more than one model of the RE-1 "Sky Courier" 
 morale receiver? I have 2 of them and the main difference is that one has 
what  appears to be an OEM whip antenna installed on the left rear corner of 
the  cabinet. Chuck's book only mentions one version. If this antenna was 
installed  by a subsequent owner, it was done using the same rivets and the 
metal bracket  appears to be of the same age as the chassis.
