Hallicrafters did build at least one morale receiver intended to be used in
both Europe and the south Pacific. It was adapted for the warmer and wetter
climates.

Since the "tropicalization" wouldn't be necessary on equipment used in
temperate climates, maybe the components were changed to compensate for the
higher expected environmental temperatures. (???)
