[Hallicrafters] Question: Tropicalized Halli receivers?

Since the "tropicalization" wouldn't be necessary on equipment used in 
temperate climates, maybe the components were changed to compensate for the 
higher expected environmental temperatures.  (???)

Okay.  I understand that.  But why would they change the values of a few
dozen discrete components?
