Strange but both my 1941 SX-28 and 1946 SX-28A have meters that the needle
rest to the right with power off. Examining several photos on the web show
the same.
My SX-16, SX-17, SX-24, SX-25, S-27 and S-32 all rest to the left. Somewhere
I have the external meter for a S-20R, I'll have to check that also. The
December 1940 QST ad ( which is my birthday month/year and sits on the desk)
also has the meter needle at the right.

The "somebody" meant S-36.

Thanks, I have the later version.
