painted fins, plated fins - questions RE: [Hallicrafters] SX-25

Two of mine have the "h" and all four are plated. Ive had one of them
without the "h" since 1956 which came with a one owner prewar SX-25 that was
a real dog and quickly dumped (and got a HQ-129X). However as a 16 year old
I didnt have a clue about leaky caps and other Hallitosis.
Id wondered for years why a receiver with 2 RF stages was such a dog and
didnt get clued into the cap and resistor problems until I went to work for
National in 63. Then I spent several years replacing wax, bumblebee, and
Black Beauties!
