painted fins, plated fins - questions RE: [Hallicrafters] SX-25

I have 2 PM-23 speakers.  Both have plated fins.  One has the h, the other does not.

The one with the h is pre-war, and was the matching speaker for the SX-24 (spring 1940 production) that I got with it.  The other came with the SX-25, but that receiver has a mid-war serial number (if the Western Historic Radio Museum's reckoning is right).  The 25 and its speaker were probably a matched pair but I can't be sure of that.  I am positive about the SX-24 and its speaker, though.  And both receivers have plated fins.
