Forgive my anal nature....
I have proper calibration, during alignment, with the bandspread cap
fully open.
I have accurate readout, during use, with bandspread cap fully open
The bandspread knob and dial is rotated fully counter-clockwise to
achieve fully open cap
Instructions say to index bandspread to zero on dial, with min
capacitance (which is fully open)
My scenario during operation:
Bandspread knob (and dial) is rotated fully counter-clockwise. Cap is
fully open
Bandspread reads zero
Tune in to BCB signal.
Bandspread knob and dial can now only rotate clockwise.
Rotate bandspread and dial clockwise.
Actual received frequency gets lower.
Bandspread readout goes from zero, almost immediately to 100, then
lowers from 100 down to zero.
Does this sound like normal operation for the S-40a ?
