A while ago I asked if anyone had a cure for rf interference that I have
every 12 khz or so from 100 khz up to about 10 mhz. I called Peet and
tech service said the racket is coming from the humidy sensor but had no
ideas for a cure.
I tried a bunch of ferrites in barious places in the top control box and
they did not help at all. What did work was installing a .05 cap across
the terminals marked Humity sensor (yellow) and common (red). That
eliminated the interference.
Was surprised that Peet would not say - "Gee - sorry about the
interference - we will have our engineers check it out and get back to
you". If it was an el-cheepo unit I could understand their attitude,
however on a unit that starts at a grand you would think they would be
more interested. I guess today all a manufacturer has to do is slap a
Part 15 sticker on their equipment and they are good to go.
Parts cost - about 20 cents for the cap!!
Off vent mode!!
