Julian,
The can looks to me like a mobile ANL unit. My recollection, perhaps
incorrect, is that it might have been sold by Gonset. I think I still have
one in a junk box somewhere.
I had one that I used in the mid 1950s on my 1947 Chevy car radio. I used a
Morrow MBR-3 converter and later a Gonset converter that I had added 40
meters to. One REALLY needed the ANL on 10 meters. I seem to remember a
toggle switch either on the far end of one of the shielded wires or actually
on the can to turn the limiter on and off.
Am I hallucinating or does this ring a bell with others?
