[Hallicrafters] Getting started in collecting Hallicrafters sets

I have a friend who is getting interested in collecting/listening to short wave broadcasts. I suggested that he get Chuck Dachis' book for a good introduction to Hallicrafters sets. My only experience with Hallicrafters is two Vietnam era radios and an S38E set which I have had since 1955. I am not really qualified to advise him on what sets to get for a start.

Can anyone make some recommendations?
