[Hallicrafters] SX 28 S meter

One of mine is as you described. 

Until I took the meter apart I thought there was no meter face.
What I found with this one, was that there is a clear
plastic window on the front of the meter and behind the
glass in the bezel. The reflections off of the plastic
makes the meter almost impossible to see. Also, this plastic
is warped and not sitting properly anymore.

I haven't found a solution to the problem though.
