[Mr. and Mrs. Magoo]

Nothing wrong with contests and contesters....unfortunately it is the 
"attack monster" syndrome which emerges in some people during one of these 
events, coupled with mis-use of their equipment, which provides food for 
some of the comments seen on this reflector the last day or two.

If accompanied by common sense, courtesy and all the other values, 
contesting can be a rather enjoyable ham activity which serves to activate 
the bands at a time when large numbers of us seem to have become SWLs rather 
than hams.
